Ana Mª Manzanas Calvo’s research centers on so-called Ethnic American Literatures, a field she approaches from a comparative and intercultural perspective. Such comparative approach is visible in the publications she has coauthored and/or co-edited with Prof. Jesus Benito, such as:

She has also directed several research projects on Border Theory. She has lectured at the Salzburg Seminar, and at universities such as Graz, Coimbra, Tolouse, City University of Hong Kong, University of Hong Kong, among others. She is a referee for periodicals such as Atlantis and Miscelánea.
